ACEMAGIC F5A Mini PC Gets Major Spec Boost with AMD Ryzen AI HX 470, OCuLink and Dual USB4 Ports

Breaking: ACEMAGIC Unveils Upgraded F5A Mini PC

ACEMAGIC has launched a significant refresh of its F5A mini desktop line, the ACEMAGIC F5A AI 470, packing an AMD Ryzen AI HX 470 processor. The new model targets power users and creators who need desktop-class performance in a compact chassis.

The most notable change is the processor swap, but the machine retains a standout port selection. It includes two USB4 ports and an OCuLink port for external PCIe 4.0 x4 connections, enabling high-speed graphics docks or storage expansions.

“The inclusion of both USB4 and OCuLink in a sub-1-liter PC is remarkable,” said Mark Li, senior analyst at MiniPC Insights. “It gives users enterprise-level expandability without needing a full tower.”

Storage and Connectivity Highlights

The F5A AI 470 supports up to three internal SSDs, thanks to multiple M.2 slots. This allows users to configure a high-capacity, fast storage array in a tiny footprint.

Networking is equally robust: Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 come standard. The front panel offers a USB-C with DisplayPort alternate mode, plus a headphone jack.

For external graphics, the OCuLink port provides a direct PCIe 4.0 x4 link, outperforming Thunderbolt in latency-sensitive workloads. Users can attach an eGPU enclosure for gaming or AI tasks.

Background: A Modest Update with Significant Changes

Last year’s ACEMAGIC F5A originally launched with an older Ryzen 7000 series processor. The new “AI 470” revision swaps in the Ryzen AI HX 470, part of AMD’s latest Hawk Point line, which includes a dedicated AI engine.

Despite the processor being a modest bump — the core count and clock speeds rise slightly — the AI accelerator adds new capabilities for machine learning inference. ACEMAGIC positions this as an AI-ready mini PC for creative professionals and developers.

The company did not change the chassis design; it remains the same compact aluminum case measuring roughly 5.9 x 5.9 x 2.2 inches. Cooling has been updated to handle the higher TDP of the new chip.

What This Means for Users

The Ryzen AI HX 470 brings on-device AI processing, which can accelerate tasks like video upscaling, noise reduction, and real-time language translation. Combined with the expandable I/O, this mini PC becomes a powerful workstation for edge AI applications.

Gamers will benefit from the OCuLink port for low-latency external graphics, while content creators can attach multiple high-speed SSDs via USB4 or internal M.2 slots. The dual USB4 ports also support daisy-chaining 8K monitors.

However, the upgrade comes at a modest price increase. Early listings show a 10-15% premium over the previous model. ACEMAGIC expects the F5A AI 470 to ship starting next month direct from its online store and select retailers.

Pricing and Availability

Two configurations will be available at launch: a base model with 16GB DDR5 RAM and a 512GB SSD, and a higher-end version with 32GB RAM and a 1TB SSD. The base model is expected to start at $599, with the 32GB version at $749.

Pre-orders open today with a 10% discount for the first 100 customers. Shipping begins in late March.
